Natural da Califórnia, Chavez atuou como diretor de vendas na Level Hotels & Furnishings em Los Angeles e também ocupou cargos como gerente geral e vice-presidente de vendas no Sportsman's Lodge Hotel em Studio City. Chavez também atuou como diretor regional de vendas e buffet para Joie de Vivre Hotels e como gerente sênior de vendas corporativas no The Standard e gerente de vendas de grupo no Wyndham Checkers Hotel.
